This is a typical landscape. Have place in my collection for sure.
I like the variation of colour in the vegetation, dont know if its photoshoped but its a pearl to the eyes and make us dream, it really contrast with that stormy sky, while the trees at the midle make the division and create depth. It would be great if the clouds were more clarity and defined, would make it more dramatic and realistic but i guess the ground was the masterpiece.
This is one of the pieces i usual do features about, since they really get me to mind-travelling.
I think the composition is really nice but I feel like the image is a little too yellow, it almost feels posterized, which is fine if that is what was being attempted, being in the midwest as well I understand the desire to add a little color to what always looks so brown. I think a little less yellow and the brownness could have been offset fine. The ominous clouds are cool, one of the best things about photographing out here next to the sunrises and sunsets. I also like the panoramic effect with the touch of vignetting at the edges.
I found this here in the critique corner at Photo Assignment, so I thought I'd share my thoughts... I don't have premium so can't write and actual critique.
Also keep in mind that I'm no pro myself, but I might as well try to say what I think about this photo. If it's all messed up then don't pay any attention to me.
I think the exposure is very well done. You can see the details in the clouds and at the same time not making the rest of the picture dark.
The focus as well is very good, you got pretty much the entire picture in focus, which I think is really good for this landscape.
The use of the 3rds are also taken to use, which I think is good when it comes to horizons. Both the foreground with the straws and colours there are good, as well as the green middle ground and the blue in the background.
As I said the picture is really good, but there are a few things I'm noticing. The ever-present power lines are as always a disturbance, but what can you do?
Also in lower left corner there's some blue tint that seems to be not intended if you get what I mean?
Very good picture over all. Way better than what I can do.
Hope you like my "Critique", it's my first try at writing one
Yeah, I know what you mean about the blue. I did it, then apparently I was to lazy to undo it, but I shall fix it! Good eye for the power lines, I could remove them. The human touch can never be escaped fully it seems... And I do have a knack for the rule of thirds! I love it haha, can't escape it!
